Abstract: The article presents a critical edition of Miracle 27 from the Slavonic translation of the Miracles of St. Demetrios of Thessalonica by John Stauracius, chartophylax and tabularius of the Metropolis of Thessalonica. The miracle recounts the death of Tsar Kaloyan at the walls of Thessalonica. The text is accompanied by a modern Bulgarian translation and detailed commentary. The historical study closely examines the events described and their interpretation in both modern and contemporary Bulgarian historiography, offering a reassessment of certain episodes and conclusions.
